That was fun doing the Lie To Me exercise. Some people are good liars while others are just obvious. You can also tell who can read people's facial expression & who could not. I was ok at reading many of our peers expression and others I just could not. At first I did not understand why we were doing this but at the end of class I realized that sometimes you have to find a way for your client to believe that you are the best doing what you are doing.

Last day of class. I am kind of sad that it is over because I met a lot good & fun people. I did not realized how much I actually learned in this class. Today class I learned how much I have grown and in what area. I hope the food will be good on Finals Day. LoL!!!

(11/19/2009) One Campus, One Book Discussion on graphic novels

This was an event that CSULA Student Union had in the new Student Union Building. The event was sponsered by One Campus, One Book. It was a nice event that they had and I enjoyed myself. I have seen some of their comics before in the Los Angeles Times like La Cucaracha by Lalo Alcaraz. Jamie Hernandez and Lalo Alcaraz spoked the most at the event. They spoke about how they create and where do thier ideas come from. They both work better at night time tham they do in the day.

Yes, I was late. I did see the examples of the creative briefs. I still do not understand what was the point of them yet. Need deeper explainations. The visual materials were intense, my brain felt like it was crashing.

Kim Baer Lecture (11/12/2009)

Wow, I like Mrs. Kim Baer's speech from last night. It is so nice to hear from someone who is originally from the Los Angeles area and works in L.A. So many of artists and designers who live in L.A. are not L.A. natives and they are more well known than our artists. I also, liked how she talks about it her childhood and that also she was sort of privileged but she is so down to earth. She is also, very honest on how she organizes her work and she is always busy. She likes it. I also like the fact how she emphazises to researching and knowing typography as a skill even though you can draw. This is something that many artists do not tell you. I am very happy that I was able to go to this special event. ;B

Wow, my brain feels like it's going to explode. @.@! Sometimes, you just can't multi-task. It was fun to that exercise in class. The group of people in the class is a real good crowd. It was nice to see other people's biography and how they try to express theirselves.

Class today was educational and boring for me. I did laugh a little bit. The films were more informative than enjoyable. Also, there were lot of positive feed backs about the class. So, I guess the class served its purpose. LOL!
I also get to blog once a week from now on after this week.

Class was ok today. Some people made some funny games. Some people went over board with thier assignment. Some people's game I would actually buy. I won't say who. ;B

Class today was ok. It was sort of difficult for me to concentrate because of my illness. The videos were great, I took a lot of notes. I also felt that I did not do enough for the homework assignment. Ideal mapping is not my thing.

Woo, today class was super fun. I played games that I haven't played for a long. I brought the game "Sorry." The people who I played with were fun even though some of them cheated. I won't give names. I played like 2-3 games, I think... I never played to so many games at once if I can remember. @_@!

The first movie ("Power of Ten") was very boring. I did understand what it was showing. Everything mulitply by 10. Like in math doing powers. Also, divide everything by 10. It's kind like doing algebra without so many formals and functions. Second movie ("Why Do You Create") was a little confussing for me in the beginning but towards the end of the movie I understood it. Looking at other classmates homework assignment was kind of fun. I laughed a lot.

Wow, I did not realize that I was not good using my words when it comes speaking. I did have some trouble doing todays homework assignment however, most of my images did fit my phrase. Some of the images that I picked I had to explain why it fits my phrase. Doing the story telling about a few images was difficult because I am not good telling stories to my younger sisters. LOL

A simple picture and 10 words or phrase to descripe it was slightly difficult for me. I thought it was goning to be easy. I was wrong. The video in class was good to watch. I think that video of Sir ....? was open minded for me.

Class was good today. I never ever thought about breaking down a picture and say what you see or think. It felt like being in therapy without a theraphist labeling you. *Laughs* I learned a lot about myself in this class. I actually know more words than I give myself credit for. Still trying to figure out what picture I'm going to use for homework.

I don't understand this website. The film we watched in class was to intense. It was clever how the film talks about global warming, be nice to your environment, ect about nature. I also, learn a little bit about the Japanesse culture. Some of the short films I understood and others I did not what they were talking about.

I do not think that making map concepts would be that useful for me. I like writing my ideas more than drawing/mapping them out. I also just like to try that idea instead of thinking about it so much. Many times I just like to do that idea without thinking about it.

Sept. 30, 2009

I liked today's lecture. I usually doddle & take notes when their's a lecture. But this lecture I only took notes. So, I guess many of the art works that maybe created in this class would be based on some kind of unusual concept.

9/28 First Day of Class

First day of class was very interesting. I did not know that it was a new class added by the art department. I hope this class can help me in the long run.
